-Vernet take Langdon and Sophie into the back of an armored truck, changes into driver's clothes, hides a gun, and attempts an escape
-Collet stop them and question Vernet about the trunk, who tells him its locked and he cannot open it until he gets to his destination
-Collet eventually lets them past
-Silas tells the Teacher that he has failed, but the Teacher tells him Sauniere transfered information before his death, renewing Silas' mood
-Sophie and Langdon find a cryptex inside the wooden chest
-Langdon realizes they are holding the keystone, the object that will lead them to the Holy Grail
-Sophie believes his grandfather may have been the head of the Priory
-Vernet stops the car, opens the back, but holds them up by gunpoint
-He orders them to give him the keystone
-Langdon hands it over, but not before lodging a bullet shell between the door mechanism. As Vernet tries to forcefully close the door without success, Langdon crashes open the door, knocking Vernet down, taking back the wooden chest and letting Sophie drive away
-Aringarosa leaves Castel Gandolfo, but realizes his cell phone signal was very weak. He worries the Teacher may have thought the deal went awry
-Langdon suggests to go to Englishman Sir Leigh Teabing's mansion in Versailles, as he is a historian and Grail scholar, who might be able to help them. Teabing is an acquaintance of Langdon
-Langdon and Sophie get to Teabing's estate's intercom, where they are asked 3 trick questions before being allowed to enter
